Panigiri is Underway!!! Χρόνια Πολλά everybody!

The rain looks like it has passed and given us a lovely day for our Πανηγύρι(Panugiri) Celebration today! We will commence once Divine Liturgy is done today and will be staying even once the sun comes down for some Fireworks! Aside from the Cookout we will have a Bouncy house for the children and games! If rain comes back unexpectedly we will move into the Hellenic Center!

Thank you to all who joined us for our special Divine Liturgy today! It was a lovely service and we had the opportunity to perform a 40 day Blessing for the new baby of Christina Abadsidis and family! Να σας ζήσει! August 15 is one of the most important dates in the Greek Orthodox Calendar, as we commemorate the Feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos. It is a day of celebrating Panagia, Mother of All. Ο Δεκαπενταύγουστος, «το Πάσχα του καλοκαιριού», είναι αφιερωμένος στην Παναγία. Χρόνια Πολλά!

Today we had the joy of performing a 40 Day Blessing for Barbara and Demetri Sassos for their newborn daughter Theodora. Welcoming another member to our Kimisis Family. Να σας ζήσει!!!

Our parish feast day is fast approaching. Our community will offer prayers over the next two weeks in preparation for the Dormition of the Theotokos on August 15th. Paraklesis will be offered Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 6pm in addition to our usual Sunday Liturgy at 9am.

REMINDER: TOMORROW THERE WILL BE NO DIVINE LITURGY TOMORROW, SUNDAY JULY 7th Father Joseph is on vacation and tomorrow will the church will be open to all who wish to come, light a candle and pray! We will be opening the doors at 8:30am On Sunday July 14, Fr Panagiotis Papazafiropoulos will be with us for Divine Liturgy while Father Joseph concludes his vacation.

A Very Warm Welcome to our New Archbishop Elpidophoros as he landed yesterday in New York’s JFK. Today he meets his predecessor His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios. We at Kimisis would also love to thank Archbishop Demetrios for all the work he has done over the years and wish him a Blessed Retirement. Truly this is a beautiful sight

Day 1 of our Festival was a hit with a very nice kickoff with our Mayor Rob Rolison and Dutchess County Executuve Marc Molinaro assisting us in Honoring our local Poughkeepsie Fire Dept and this year’s charity The Special Olympics, in which a portion of our profits will be donated to. We love our local Poughkeepsie community and strive to help in any way we can! Come join us today through Sunday for some Grecian Delights and fine homemade Pastries!

TODAY IS THE DAY!!! We’re open from 11am-9pm Rain or Shine!! Come Get Your Greek On with us and enjoy some delicious Greek food and our homemade pastries!! A portion of this years Festival will be going to The Special Olympics this year being held in our very own Poughkeepsie, NY at Vassar College! We will be ACCEPTING CREDIT CARDS now at ALL STATIONS!!! SPREAD THE WORD!!!
